Situated in the heart of Lausanne, the Lausanne Palace & Spa enjoys the full force of the daily life of Lausanne. The Olympic city but also a durable city and a place of training and of culture, Lausanne distinguishes itself by its urban life in full movement. Le Flon has regained its pedigree to become “The Place To Be”, a new point of reference for culture and city entertainment.

Headquarters of the International Olympic Committee since 1915, Lausanne was formalised as the Olympic capital in 1994. In just a few years Lausanne has thus become the world centre for sport administration.

Cultural activities are not lacking in Lausanne. Lausanne offers an impressive cultural diversity: a score of museums, including the famous “Musée Olympique et la Collection d’art brut”, blend perfectly with the environment in Lausanne.

The city of Lausanne also cultivates the art scene locally and nationally thanks to a number of prestigious institutions of international scope: the Ballet Béjart, the Opéra de Lausanne, in partnership with the Lausanne Palace & Spa, and the Théâtre de Vidy-Lausanne.

Throughout the year you can enjoy the historical heritage of the city with its majestic Gothic cathedral and its Roman remains scattered in the periphery.

Since 1994, the Olympic Capital, Lausanne has fully emancipated thanks now to an international renown. Cross country skiing, golf, skateboarding, curling: the importance of sport to Lausanne is underscored by Lake Geneva and the presence of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) which has taken up residence in the city since 1915.

In 2006, the Maison du Sport International established itself in Lausanne and brings together multiple actors involved in the administration of international sport, a score of international sporting federations and organisations and a dozen specialized companies in the fields of sport.

Note the presence of bowling alleys, the centre for sport shooting, several jogging paths and hiking routes, cycling routes and stadiums.
